Can I rent a moving truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks are available for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go cargo van, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You could also visit our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is offered at your store.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
